Your Voice Matters
A three-week summer workshop for young writers
Mon, Jul 10-Thu, Jul 27
Limited spots available — apply now!
Rebecca Stead (When You Reach Me and Liar and Spy), Gary Shteyngart (Super Sad True Love Story), Sapphire (PUSH) and Claudia Rankine (Citizen) all got their start as students in workshops at 92Y. In this three-week workshop you’ll learn the tricks of the trade from three extraordinary writer-teachers. Explore your ideas, experiment and grow confident in your voice. In the morning session, you’ll learn to read like a writer while studying work by authors from all backgrounds. You’ll also take your original ideas and turn them into real and convincing works in poetry, fiction and non-fiction. In afternoon roundtable workshops, you’ll learn to talk deeply and critically about your own work and to give smart and useful feedback to your peers on exercises and assignments.
